Assassin’s Creed: Unity is a video game developed by Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft. Eighth main chapter of the Assassin’s Creed series and the sequel to Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, the play tells the story of Dorian Arno and is set mainly in France during the French Revolution, in the late eighteenth century.
Assassin’s Creed Unity was released released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One PC and the November 11, 2014 in North America and November 13, 2014 in Europe.
The study of Ubisoft based in Montreal began the development of the game in 2010  and has worked to completion together with those of Toronto, Singapore, Quebec, Annecy, Shanghai, Chengdu, Kiev, Montpellier and Bucharest.
Alexandre Amancio announced to be working on the development of Assassin’s Creed Unity as creative director since June 2012. The creative director said he chose to want to develop the title on next-generation consoles for the chance to push the narrative to the limit and make sure that within the plot there was a love story that was not just a secondary matter. the writing of the main plot has been assigned to Travis Stout, author of the plot of Fallout: New Vegas, while the plot on the missions to be carried out in co-operative were written by Ceri Young, and that relating to missions by Russell Lees.
He was questioned as a consultant to the French historian Jean Clement Martin. According to what was said by Maxime Durand, the historical consultant who has worked with Ubisoft in the development of the latest titles, Clement Martin helped to ensure that the story was not too filomonarchica, although criticism expressed in violence during the revolution.
Ubisoft has improved especially for the development of Assassin’s Creed Unity its graphics engine Anvil adding tools: Theatre, Zen and City Lights. Theatre has allowed developers to improve the quality of movies and animations. Zen has dealt instead of productivity management. Finally, City Lights has allowed us to have a better feeling for the volumetric cinematography.
Great work has been done also in the development of the inhabitants of the city of Paris. The crowd present in Assassin’s Creed Unity has on many occasions made up of a number of citizens in the thousands, and possesses entirely new animations and behaviors that increase their realism. Amancio said the cast who voices the characters of the game has used a strong English accent. The citizens in the city of Paris instead speak only French to increase the identification of the player in the game.
Places and Navigation
The game is set mainly in a Paris reproduced in full revolution, thanks to the power of next-generation consoles, scale 1: 1 in some areas; feature that, according to the game director Alexandre Amacio, lets dive into the urban environment more deeply than previous chapters. The map of the city of Paris, three times bigger than the one representing the sea of the West Indies Assassin’s Creed IV : Black Flag, is in fact the largest ever created for a game in the Assassin’s Creed and his seven neighborhoods are properly characterized and different.
There are numerous buildings explorable internally, including many historic structures like the palace of Versailles, the Luxembourg Palace and the Cathedral of Notre-Dame. In addition, some buildings, that might seem empty at first glance, might instead hide secret room containing treasures.
Completely rebuilt from scratch was the navigation system. It is in fact possible to perform the stroke acrobatic both upwards and downwards, thus allowing the player to quickly scale a building and descending with equal rapidity. Arno is then able to learn new movements during the progression of the game and the players have the opportunity to buy new ones yet.
As the navigation system, even the combat mechanics have been rebuilt from the ground up. Similarly to what happened in the previous title, the protagonist of the portion of this Assassin’s Creed: Unity is controllable in person. However, the protagonist is not an anonymous employee dell’Abstergo Entertainment as in Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, but the player himself.
Instead of giving the player the specific objectives to complete a memory with synchronization total, Ubisoft has decided to develop a system completion of the memories that offered greater freedom of action, which he called Adaptive Mission Mechanic. Some of these skills also bring benefits to the whole group of players: l ‘skills of disguise allows players to take on the appearance of other characters, the medical skill is rather useful to treat wounded comrades, skill linked to ammunition supply allows players who have remained without bound as the ability to ‘eagle eye allows several players to see where the enemies are not visible.
