Need for Speed: Underground 2 (NFSU2) is a racing game published and developed by Electronic Arts. Released in 2004, is the sequel to Need for Speed: Underground, and is part of the Need for Speed series, commit them to the GameCube, PlayStation 2, Xbox, Nintendo DS, Game Boy Advance and PC. It was built at the EA Black Box studio, based in Vancouver.
The game is based on illegal car racing and modification of cars to achieve extreme performance, taking the plot of Need for Speed: Underground.
Need for Speed: Underground 2 provides several new features, such as new methods of selecting the challenges, the mode “exploration” (run through the city freely, like the Midnight Club series) running in a large city known as “Bayview”) and the ability to challenge other cars during the exploration mode. Underground 2 also introduces three SUVs, which can be modified as other vehicles and used for racing against other drivers of SUVs. Brooke Burke is the voice of Rachel Teller, the person who guides the player in history.
On the Nintendo DS version, players can draw “labels” to adorn any vehicle in the game.
The PSP version is Need for Speed: Underground Rivals.
A scene of the gameplay.
The Circuit is a standard race in two or more rounds, which takes place on public roads (usually also open to traffic). The winner is the driver who cuts the finish line first. Usually involving four pilots, but there may be variations.
In identical to a race circuit, with the difference that the driver in last place is eliminated every lap.
The Sprint is a variation of the circuit in which you have to follow a path that goes from point A to point B. They also play on public roads in traffic.
A Shot mostly takes place on a straight track, which can be made from sections of the highway or from ampiee brownfield sites, such as former industrial areas or runways dell’areoporto. In this type of race changed in the precision is essential to win, as well as the careful management of nitrous oxide, which is why the HUD is shown greatly enlarged. You also need to have quick reflexes to dodge other cars quickly and obstacles that may be present on the circuit: a crash at speeds high enough in fact means to destroy the vehicle. Another way to lose the race is to merge the engine, a circumstance that can happen if you are traveling too long revving.
A Dérapage is a drift race on closed circuit and no traffic, to get high scores to be drifting along, high-speed, sliding as much as possible to the walls. Concatenating several drifts you get a multiplier points. In a collision the other hand, the drift current is interrupted and the accumulated points are reset to zero with it. Just like in real racing drift, it is convenient to use a car to rear wheel drive. Unlike what happened in the previous chapter, during the race you can not use nitrous oxide.
Dérapage downhill
This mode is not present in the previous chapter, it is conceptually very similar to the classic Dérapage, but instead on a closed circuit takes place on mountain roads full of hairpin bends down and opened to traffic. Another big difference is the fact that the race takes place in maches separate for each pilot: therefore, the player competes without opponents on the track, but however, must confront their scores previously obtained.
Another new feature not present in the first Underground, Street X races are circuit races that take place on the tracks normally used for Dérapage. The limited length of the track and the very tight curves require a very aggressive approach. Here, too, you can not use the nitrous oxide.
Acronym of Underground Racing League, the URL races are the tournaments that take place on private circuits similar to those of the competition “official” or derived from large unused spaces such as former runways. The rules are the same as the circuit mode, however the URL provide a higher number of opponents (usually eight) and a system of points awarded to drivers based on their placings. He won the tournament who holds the highest score at the end of the event. They are the most economically profitable races of the game (both because of the large cash prize if they win, either because they are an important “window” to get sponsorship), as well as the longest and most challenging.
Wandering through the city will meet frequently other street racers, with which it is possible to hire a Challenge impromptu. The course is absolutely free and is decided by the car head; distance the opponent to win one of at least 300 meters. Depending on your driving style and his own car, the best tactics are two: take advantage of the traffic and lanes to slow down the opponent, or entering the highway and push hard trusting in the performance of his car. The prize money obtained in case of victory is modest, however, defeating a good number of opponents you buy over and with it the ability to install on your car unique components.
All the cars in the game
How about in the previous episode, Underground 2 continues to offer similar vehicles for purchase and change, most of which consist of Asian models, with a considerable number of European and American models. In addition, Underground 2 is the only game in the Need for Speed series to date to offer three SUVs as vehicles to drive, that can be modified much like their more compact. A total of 29 vehicle models is available, but the PAL version of the game offers two extra European cars. But there is a change created by amateur El Presy & Pawel for NFSNetwork.it that allows you to have all the cars listed below. The machines of extras Underground 2 are the following.
